Douglas L. Pintauro, has been representing design professionals exclusively for more than 35 years. He has had extensive experience in architect’s and engineer’s professional liability. His broad-based experience in this area ranges from negotiating contracts, litigation complex multi-party construction claims, as well as arbitrating and mediating construction related disputes.

​Mr. Pintauro received his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in 1980, was a member of the John Marshall Law Review, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University in 1977.
​
​He is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has been designated a Super Lawyer.

​He has authored many articles and publications, including: Cyber Attacks: A Clear and Present Danger to Architects and Engineers, The Design Professional's Duty to the Injured Construction Worker Under the New York State Labor Law, Working Without a Contract, Offshore Outsourcing by American Design, A Design Construction Lawyer Discusses Limiting the Design Professional's Liability, New York Real Estate Journal, May 18-24, 2004; Design -Build in New York: A Closer Look at Some of the Pitfalls for the Design Professional, New York Real Estate Journal, May 2004; What Architects and Engineers Should Know About Defamation at the Job Site, New York Real Estate Journal, January 20, 2004; and Avoiding Malpractice Claims: Finding Aggressive Insurers, Consulting-Specifying Engineer, July 1996. He has also lectured extensively on a variety of issues relating to architects and engineers professional and contractual liability.
